  • Packing list

A package document enumerating included assets and their identifiers for ingest and validation.

  • Paint-out

Frame-by-frame removal or replacement of an unwanted photographed object or artifact.

Pulse-code modulation, a method representing sampled audio amplitude as numerical values.

  • Phase alignment

Adjustment of timing or polarity so related audio signals combine as intended.

  • Photosensitive-epilepsy test

An automated and reviewed check for flashing or patterned images that may pose photosensitive seizure risk.

  • Picture lock

The point at which editorial timing and shot order are approved for downstream finishing.

  • Planar tracking

Motion analysis following a flat surface region through translation, scale, rotation, and perspective change.

  • Playback QC

Real-time review of a deliverable through an appropriate playback path from beginning to end.

  • Playhead

The timeline indicator showing the current temporal position for playback, editing, or navigation.

  • Point tracking

Motion analysis following one or more localized image features across frames.

  • Post-production continuity script

A detailed record of final program content, timings, shots, dialogue, music, and other required elements.

  • Power window

A shaped spatial mask used in color grading to restrict an adjustment to part of the image.

  • Precomposition

A nested composition used to group layers or processing within a larger motion-graphics or effects comp.

  • Premix

A focused mixing pass that balances and processes a group of elements before the final mix.

  • Premultiplied alpha

An image representation in which color channels are already multiplied by transparency values.

  • Premultiply

The operation of multiplying color channels by alpha so stored color is associated with opacity.

  • Preview file

A temporary render generated to improve timeline playback of effects or demanding media.

  • Primary color correction

A color adjustment affecting the image broadly, such as overall exposure, balance, contrast, or saturation.

  • Printmaster

The approved final program mix from which exhibition or distribution audio deliverables are derived.

  • Production dialogue

Dialogue recorded during photography and carried into post as the primary performance source.

  • Program monitor

An editing viewer that displays the current output of the active sequence or timeline.

  • Project locking

A collaboration control preventing conflicting users from modifying the same project state simultaneously.

  • Proxy media

Lower-bandwidth copies used to edit efficiently while preserving a path back to original media.

  • Pull list

A list identifying source shots or film sections that must be retrieved for conforming, scanning, or effects work.

  • Pulldown removal

The reconstruction of original film-like frames by identifying and removing a video field cadence.

  • QC report

A structured record of technical, editorial, accessibility, or packaging issues found during quality control.

  • Quality control

A structured review that checks technical, editorial, accessibility, and delivery requirements.
